Challengers Families, 

As we begin Quarter 2, I want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible accomplishments of our Deerwood community. We are proud to be a B-rated school, a testament to the dedication of our students, staff, and families. This achievement reflects our commitment to academic excellence and continuous growth as we work together to ensure success for every child.

At Deerwood, our students are expected to RISE each day by demonstrating:

• Resilience: Persevering through challenges and learning from mistakes.
• Integrity: Making responsible choices and doing the right thing.
• Safety: Creating a secure and respectful environment for everyone.
• Eagerness to Learn: Coming to school ready to learn, participate, and grow.

These expectations help us build a positive school culture where students feel supported, empowered, and motivated to achieve their best.

Another key factor in student success is regular school attendance. Every day of instruction matters. Students who attend school consistently are better positioned to master grade-level standards, build strong relationships with teachers and peers, and participate fully in classroom learning experiences. We ask families to continue partnering with us to ensure students arrive at school on time and ready to learn each day.

As we progress through Quarter 2, please stay engaged in your child's education by reviewing assignments, communicating with teachers, and monitoring academic progress. Together, we can help every Deerwood student continue to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

• November 23-27, 2026 – Thanksgiving Break (No School)
• December 4, 2026 – Holidays Around the World
• December 21, 2026-January 1, 2027 – Winter Break (No School)
• January 4, 2027 – Students Return to School
• January 7, 2027 – End of Quarter 2 (Second Grading Period Ends)
• January 8, 2027 – Teacher Workday/Student Holiday
• January 22, 2027 – Second Grading Period Report Cards Issued
